When you hit the m key the game will immediately show you the warps out of your current sector and ask you: "To which Sector ?"

It is patiently waiting now for you to hit Enter. You enter a number and hit enter. If you don't type a number or just hit enter, you get:

Illegal number. -Blinking red in an annoying fashion.

It won't let you enter text, it waits for a number, and the only wrong number you can give it is 0. If you enter one of the sectors immediately adjacent to your current sector, you move there immediately and deal with whatever might be in that sector. You will find that just entering a number at the Command prompt will initiate a move.

If you enter a sector that is not adjacent to your current sector, you will see:

The shortest path (7 hops, z turns) from sector 123 to sector 456 is:

123 > 1470 > 1170 > 1081 > 197 > 430 > 1093 > 456

Z will be variable, depending on the type of ship you have and it's TPW
