Furbing, or 'refurbishing' a ship is the act of replacing holds, and/or fighters and shields, that have been lost.
The most cost effective way to furb a larger ship, like a Colonial Transport, is to tow a personally owned Merchant Freighter to the sector and have the Colonial Transport attack and destroy it. Upon destruction, a number of holds will transfer to the attacking ship.
