The game server, the TWGS, is just a program running on a separate computer. The address of the game server and a few details about the games offered are usually put in a 'Game Bang' announcement on various tradewars websites by the host, or sysop.

Example: ClassicTW.com Rebang Forum

or more specifically;

runawayproton.dyndns.org:223

In the above address, "runawayproton.dyndns.org" is a server address with 223 being the 'port' on which the server is accessible.
