TWX Proxy is a helper created by Remco Mulder (aka Xide) to assist in gameplay. Players set up a twx database prior to entering the game. They then connect to twx with a comm program of some sort; Zoc, PuTTY, or even SWATH. Once connected to twx, they use twx to connect to the game server. Everything they see has already been seen and recorded by twx in a game database.

Because TWX Proxy is written for tradewars, there are several ways it makes gameplay easier. The database is set up with several preset searches available that will show anything the player has seen. Virtual Holo scans can be recreated with twx.

Twx also has it's own scripting language which is custom made for tradewars. There are several 'packs' of scripts included in the distribution zip. These scripts can be open and read in notepad or word and edited like any text file.

When Xide discontinued development of TWX Proxy, he released the full source under the GNU Public License. The project was later forked by ElderProphet as TWX Proxy EP.
