First, I'd like to give you an idea of my writing styleI have a degree in physics and I favor very hard, realistic sci-fiMy goal is for most if not all things to have a foundation in known physics, while making leaps of imagination on the unknownMy first presentation illustrates this.  It’s a physical quantity I call phase.  Obviously phase has been explored in many works of sci-fi, and my take on phase is basically what you’d expect.  However, I have attempted to provide more of a hard theoretical foundation for what phase is, in the tradition of warp physics in Star Trek. And from this basic foundation, many of the unique technologies and story elements are derived.

The first seed of this fiction, the concept of Phase, came to me while in college in the early 90s, but I put together the basic theory of Phase in 1994 while working with Gary Martin on a sequel to TradeWars we were calling TW: The Continuum, with the idea being that there were multiple universes over a cyclic continuum.  I’ve continued to develop the world around that core concept for nearly 20 years, and the fiction has grown to include 12 major alien races and their homeworlds, several exotic, ancient, or extragalactic races, many unique technologies and interesting characters, a history that spans from 5 billion years in the past to 4000 years in the future, and includes an invasion of Earth by humanity’s arch nemesis race, the Jinbadi, in our year 2084. There are elaborate economic and political systems that govern the futuristic galaxy of TradeWars, approximately 2000 years from now, with three primary groups forming an uneasy balance of power. I’ve explored several plotlines, some massive and sprawling, dealing with events that occur over billions of years, and some local and personal, involving the individual characters that populate the world at various times.  The story I already sent you is one little snapshot, set about 2000 years in the future, at the time of the eponymous Trade WarsBut there are many other stories in the works, and the possibilities are endless. It really is a massive world in which to play. I’ve been building it for so long, and I’m anxious to start telling some of its stories.

Due to problems with spammers, you must request an account before you can edit the wiki. Contact one of the admins listed on the users page. (Please do not contact Jpritch unless all else fails.)

When you're ready to start editing, use the search field on the left to find pages related to the topic you're interested in writing about. If there is no page with a matching title, the wiki will offer to create one. Try to avoid creating duplicate pages for the same subject. If you're not sure whether a topic deserves its own page, ask on the talk page of a related subject.

When creating new pages, please be careful to use the correct spelling and capitalization as it appears in the game (e.g., "BattleShip", not "battleship".) The names of pages should generally be nouns. The Wikipedia Manual of Style provides some good guidelines for naming new articles.

If you just want to contribute to existing pages, you can check out the recent changes or go to a random page. Check out the WikiMedia WikiMedia Help:Editing page for tips on style and markup.
